Istria and Kvarner sit side by side and could not feel less alike — one a peninsula of Venetian coastal towns and hill villages above vineyards, the other a riviera pinned between a mountain and its islands. The Grand Tour takes both in a single ten-day private journey, moving west to east: the Istrian coast, the hill towns of the interior, a private day on the Adriatic, then the crossing into Kvarner for Učka, Rijeka and the island passage south to Lošinj.
The journey
- Day 1
Arrival in Istria
Your journey begins with a private transfer to your selected accommodation in Rovinj or Bale, the first of three accommodation bases featured throughout the Grand Tour. The first day has been designed to allow time to settle in before the programme begins. Following check-in, you will meet your Adrion Travel Host, who will introduce the journey and provide an overview of the days ahead. The evening concludes with a welcome dinner at a carefully selected regional restaurant, offering an introduction to Istria's culinary traditions.
- Day 2
Western Istria
The second day is dedicated to the landscapes of western Istria. Using Premium Full-Suspension Electric Mountain Bikes (E-MTBs), guests explore vineyards, olive groves, quiet regional roads and coastal scenery through routes selected according to the itinerary, weather conditions and the group's preferences. The programme combines cycling with regional gastronomy and a boutique winery experience while vehicle support remains available throughout the day.
- Day 3
Central Istria
The third day introduces another perspective of Istria through its hill towns, local producers and regional heritage. The programme combines Motovun, Grožnjan and carefully selected gastronomic experiences with opportunities to discover boutique wineries, olive oil producers or truffle traditions before returning to the first accommodation base.
- Day 4
Istria Private Adriatic Experience
The fourth day is dedicated to the Adriatic. A privately organised speedboat experience introduces the western Istrian coastline and the Brijuni archipelago through a carefully planned programme that may include panoramic navigation, authorised stops, swimming opportunities and regional seaside dining. The day concludes with a return to the same accommodation base. The experience has been designed to provide a different perspective of Istria before the journey gradually continues towards Kvarner.
- Day 5
Journey to Kvarner
The fifth day marks the transition from Istria to Kvarner. Rather than functioning as a standard transfer, the route has been designed as part of the journey itself, combining panoramic drives through eastern Istria and Učka Nature Park with regional gastronomy before arriving on the Opatija Riviera later in the day. The second accommodation base becomes the starting point for exploring mainland Kvarner.
- Day 6
Učka & the Opatija Riviera
The sixth day combines cycling with the landscapes of Učka Nature Park and the Opatija Riviera. Premium Full-Suspension Electric Mountain Bikes (E-MTBs) provide a comfortable way to experience panoramic viewpoints, forests, coastal roads and historic seaside towns while vehicle support remains available throughout the programme.
- Day 7
Opatija & Rijeka
The seventh day introduces the cultural heritage of mainland Kvarner. The programme combines Opatija, Volosko, Rijeka and Trsat with carefully selected regional dining, allowing guests to experience another perspective of Croatia's northern Adriatic before continuing towards the islands.
- Day 8
Adrion Island Passage
The eighth day marks the transition to the third accommodation base. Guests continue the journey aboard a privately organised speedboat, following a scenic Adriatic route that reveals the changing landscapes of the northern Adriatic as the journey gradually transitions from the Opatija Riviera towards the islands of Krk, Cres and Lošinj. Swimming stops, regional dining and time at sea transform the transfer itself into one of the defining experiences of the Grand Tour. Meanwhile, the Dedicated Professional Driver transfers the Mercedes-Benz vehicle, luggage and bicycles via Krk, the Valbiska–Merag ferry, Cres and Osor, ensuring everything is prepared before the guests arrive.
- Day 9
Lošinj
The final full day is dedicated to the island landscapes of Lošinj. Premium Full-Suspension Electric Mountain Bikes (E-MTBs) provide a relaxed way to explore Čikat, Mali Lošinj, Veli Lošinj and the island's coastal scenery before concluding the journey with a carefully selected farewell dinner.
- Day 10
Continue Your Journey
Following breakfast, the programme concludes with a private Mercedes-Benz transfer from Mali Lošinj. Depending on your onward travel plans, Adrion will arrange transportation to your selected airport, another Croatian region or the next stage of your personalised itinerary, allowing the Grand Tour to continue seamlessly beyond Kvarner.
