The Story Behind Adrion

The name Adrion takes its inspiration from the Adriatic-Ionian region — one of the Mediterranean's most remarkable cultural and natural landscapes, shaped by thousands of years of history, maritime tradition and cultural exchange.

Writing between 63 BC and AD 24, the ancient Greek geographer Strabo recorded Adrion as the name of what is today known as Mount Biokovo. Rising above the Adriatic Sea, Biokovo forms the dramatic backdrop to the Makarska Riviera, the crystal-clear Cetina River and the islands of Central Dalmatia, where the Dinaric Alps meet the Adriatic to create one of the region's most distinctive natural landscapes.

This area became the inspiration behind our brand. While the Biokovo and Cetina region, in the heart of Central Dalmatia, is where some of our first signature experiences were born, Adrion was founded in Zagreb with a vision to showcase the very best of Croatia. Inspired by the region's unique blend of adventure, nature, culture, gastronomy and island life, those early experiences laid the foundation for what has grown into a collection of bespoke journeys across the entire country.
