Slavonija — a private golden heritage wine journey

From €3,200 per person

Then we turn inland. Slavonija is the part of Croatia most visitors skip and most Croatians are proud of. Flat river plains, baroque Osijek, vineyards that earn their reputation without seeking attention, long tables where food is taken seriously. This journey is for the unhurried.

The journey

  1. Day 1

    The plains and Osijek

Private transfer from Zagreb or the nearest hub into the Slavonian plain. Arrival in Osijek — the baroque citadel above the Drava, the Tvrđa fortress district, the measured pace of a city that does not perform for visitors. Dinner at a partner restaurant with the region's first kulen and a glass of Graševina to read where you are.

  2. Day 2

    The vineyards

A full day in the wine country — a curated selection of Slavonian producers, cellars built on generations of Graševina and Traminac. A long vineyard table at midday: čobanac, bread, wine, time. The afternoon takes its own direction.

  3. Day 3

    The rivers

The Drava and the Danube meet at Kopački rit — one of Europe's largest river wetlands, quiet and largely undisturbed. A morning in the nature park by boat or on foot, then a slow final lunch before the return transfer. The plains at their most legible.

Questions

Is the Slavonija journey private?

Yes — every Adrion journey runs exclusively for your party, arranged around your dates and pace.

Is Slavonija a wine destination worth the journey?

Graševina from Slavonija is among Croatia's best wines, largely unknown outside the country. The producers we work with are the reason to make the trip.

When is the best season for Slavonija?

Late September and October for the harvest — the vineyards are active, the light is low and golden, and the tables are at their fullest. Spring is quieter and equally good.

Where does the Slavonija journey start?

It begins with a private transfer from Zagreb, approximately two hours to Osijek. Arrival at another airport is possible — contact us to confirm routing.
