Some destinations are admired for their beauty. Others are remembered for their history. Dubrovnik is exceptional because it offers both. For centuries the Republic of Ragusa stood among the most influential maritime republics of the Mediterranean, and that legacy of diplomacy, trade and architecture still defines the city. The Classic Dubrovnik Journey is for travellers who wish to experience Dubrovnik beyond its famous landmarks — revealing its character through local tradition, authentic gastronomy and the timeless relationship between the Adriatic and the stone walls that have protected it for centuries.
The journey
- Day 1
Welcome to Dubrovnik
A private welcome at the airport, marina or your chosen arrival point, and a transfer by luxury Mercedes-Benz to your accommodation, where the rest of the afternoon is intentionally left unhurried. As evening approaches a leisurely orientation walk introduces the city’s elegant streets and public squares, before a carefully curated welcome dinner. This first evening is built not around sightseeing but around settling into the rhythm of Dubrovnik.
- Day 2
The story of Dubrovnik
With your licensed local guide, the day begins at Fort Lovrijenac, whose stone fortifications overlook the Adriatic and the city walls, then continues into the UNESCO World Heritage Old Town. Rather than a conventional sightseeing route, the experience takes in artisan workshops, traditional Dubrovnik jewellery, historic markets and quiet corners that reveal the city beyond its monuments — with a relaxed stop for coffee, regional wine or local delicacies. Later the journey climbs to Mount Srđ for panoramic views across the walls, Lokrum, the Elafiti archipelago and the open sea, and the day closes with a curated gastronomic experience.
- Day 3
The Elafiti Islands
The final day reveals the maritime soul of Dubrovnik. Boarding your private speedboat, you cruise to Koločep, where secluded bays and — weather permitting — the Blue Cave invite swimming and snorkelling. The journey continues to Lopud, its elegant waterfront and the sandy beach at Šunj, followed by a curated waterfront lunch. The afternoon is spent on Šipan, largest of the Elafiti, among quiet harbours and historic stone architecture, before the cruise back towards Dubrovnik and one final view of the walls rising from the sea.

Questions
Is this a private journey?
Yes. Every departure is organised exclusively for your group — no shared departures, no scheduled group tours, no fixed commercial itineraries.
Can I stay in my own accommodation?
Yes. The journey is designed for travellers who want a fully organised private experience while staying in their own hotel, villa or apartment — every day begins with a private pick-up and ends with a comfortable return. Adrion can equally arrange carefully selected luxury hotels, boutique heritage properties or private villas.
Is the itinerary fixed?
The overall concept is carefully designed to balance culture, nature, gastronomy and relaxation. The core itinerary stays intact, while the pace of each day and selected experiences can be refined whenever operationally possible to reflect your interests.
What happens in case of bad weather?
Guest safety always comes first. Should weather or sea conditions affect a boat experience, Adrion adapts the programme or provides an appropriate premium alternative while preserving the quality, comfort and overall balance of the journey.
Can the journey be extended?
Yes. It can be extended with private experiences throughout Southern Dalmatia — Pelješac, Korčula, Mljet, Konavle, the Neretva Valley, private yacht charters, or a Montenegro extension.
How is it priced?
Every departure is privately curated, so no two are identical. A proposal is prepared individually for each enquiry according to group size, travel dates, accommodation preferences, vessel selection and any optional experiences.
