Zagreb keeps its mountain close. Medvednica rises straight off the back of the capital — beech forest, old carriage roads, a fortress watching the plain. This is a single, well-made day: start at the Sljeme summit, descend on high-end e-MTB through the trees to Medvedgrad, and finish where the forest meets the city, at one table that has earned its quiet reputation. Vehicle support shadows the whole route; nothing is mandatory but the lunch.
The day
- The summit
Sljeme
Transfer to the top of Medvednica and the Sljeme tower, 1,033 metres above the city. A coffee, the lay of the land, and a proper fitting of the e-MTBs before the first turn downhill. On a clear morning the Alps sit on the northern horizon.
- The descent
Through the forest to Medvedgrad
A guided descent on quiet forest roads and smooth trail, the assist set to your pace. The route arrives at Medvedgrad — a 13th-century fortified town restored stone by stone on the mountain’s shoulder, with the whole of Zagreb and the Pannonian plain laid out below. Time to walk the ramparts before the last stretch down.
- The table
Dubravkin put
The ride ends where the Tuškanac woods fold into the upper town, at Dubravkin put — a long-standing kitchen known for its restraint and its seafood. A slow lunch, earned. The support vehicle takes the bikes from here; the afternoon is yours in the old town.

Questions
Is the Zagreb e-MTB journey private?
Yes — every Adrion journey runs exclusively for your party. There are no group departures.
How demanding is the ride?
It is a descent: from the Sljeme summit downward, on electric-assist bikes, at a pace set around your group. It suits riders of moderate fitness, and the support vehicle follows the whole route so any section is optional.
Can it be done without the bikes?
Yes. The vehicle reaches Sljeme, Medvedgrad and the city directly, so the same day can be driven and walked rather than ridden. The e-MTB is the centrepiece, not a condition.
When is the best season?
Late spring through to October. The Medvednica forest is at its best in May–June and again in the gold of late September and October.
Does the day pair with a longer journey?
Easily. It works as an arrival or departure day around Zagreb, or as the northern bookend to a coastal journey through Dalmatia.
